German Navy

Surface Combatants | Undersea Fleet

The modern German Navy is a far cry from its World War II fighting peak. It attempts to feature a balanced mix of undersea and surface vessels with the Type 212A diesel-electric attack submarine being its primary submersible and several guided-missile frigates and corvettes handling surface work. The F125 frigate is the most modern available to the service and supplants the F124 in the order. The F124 itself succeeded the aging F123 design. The corvette role is handled by the K130 and minewarfare is covered through two distinct designs - Type 332 and Type 352. Beyond these offerings is a modest stable of lesser hulls designed for support roles.
